Awesome!! Your homework is to come back home to yourself each and everyday and do the diaphragmatic paced (in 4-out 7) breathing for 10 x...then focus your normal breath on the tip of your nose...cool air in and warm air out. Let thoughts come and go. Don't judge. Don't overidentify with your thoughts and feelings. Label them… There is fear… There is anger… And so on. Set a timer and find/create a safe place for yourself that is all yours and Safe to explore your feelings in. Envision your feelings in the balloon standing waist deep in calm water… allowing your feelings while breathing into them...not pushing them under or letting them explode into the air. Use affirmations to remind yourself I am safe… I am whole… I am not my feelings… I'm not my thoughts… I am not my body… I am not my perceptions… I am not my diagnosis…. Do this for five minutes each day... if you can around the same time...if not don't worry about it...if you miss a day don't worry about it. Just intend to come back to yourself each and every day. There's nothing wrong with you! You are in recovery for a reason and you're doing the best that you can in every single moment. This single moment is all that we have!
That was from Birgit last week. I’ve done that homework for a week. Now today she added gratefulness. Today I am greatful for my boys pouring concrete with me.
